CELEBRATE THE FOUNDATION 2023: BROADWAY BASH
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2023 at the Texas Rangers Golf Club.

The committee, chaired by community leaders Mary & John Hibbs have unveiled the details for the annual fall fundraising event benefiting educational programs, teachers, and students. "It's time to represent your favorite Broadway musical hit and help us celebrate the cause!" The event will feature dinner, silent and live auctions, fun costumes, and live music. It will be another fantastic event for all, while raising funds benefiting our AISD education programs and teachers! Individual tickets are $250 and corporate sponsorships start at $2,000. About 200 people attended last year’s Celebrate the Foundation event which raised $125,000 for the Education Foundation to distribute to our AISD Schools. Foundation volunteers hope to surpass that goal this year!

Larson Elementary – Wonderbooks Would Be Wonderful!
$10,000 funded by Baylor Orthopedic Hospital

Many Larson Elementary students read well below grade level, so classroom reading centers will utilize Wonderbooks for all grades to increase reading skills and comprehension. Students will also check out Wonderbooks to read at home. GT students who struggle to read the novels discussed in their Socrates seminars will use Playaways paired with existing books so they can discuss them with depth and complexity.

Foster Elementary – Fostering Foster’s Innovation and Imagination
$10,000 funded by LBL Architects

The Foster Elementary School Library is seeking a grant to expand our makerspace to include textiles, crafting, and creating sections. The goal is to provide students with the opportunity to learn real-world skills, such as knitting, quilting, crocheting, etc., that help support foundational mathematical skills. With the grant, Foster Elementary will purchase a sewing machine, knitting materials, a Cricut machine, and crocheting materials to encourage and provide opportunities for students to innovate and create.
